Description
This is me using some of the very first photos I shot last night with my brand new Nikon D80. This is Lily waking up from a nap and very excited to see daddy with his new camera.
The background is inspired by a 1960's movie poster for "Fever in the Blood." I had broken down many 60's movie posters (found here [link]) to their basic design elements then created those shapes in an Adobe Illustrator file. I keep the file on hand to reuse for projects like this. I have 29 posters in the file and you will not believe how many times it has come in handy.
The colors are selected from print work from the Art Deco period then reduced 50% to give them a baby's pastel palette feel. I chose pink as the primary hue because of an Irish drinking song "Lily the Pink" that has become Lily's nickname. Then went with a light and smooth brown as a contrast.
The font is "Girls Are Weird" [link]
